Selecting the right datalink for the best digital signal transmission has become one of the most difficult decisions a digital audiophile must make. For the truly discriminating, the choice is fiber-optically clear: Red-jacketed CyberLight Photon Digital Datalink.
By adapting glass fiber and laser-like technology to the audio realm, Harmonic Technology has created a new generation of datalinks to bring the ultimate level of performance to digital audiophiles. Through patent-pending, miniaturized LAM (Light Analog Module) Photon Transducers, the CyberLight Digital Datalink takes the digital input of any kind and converts it directly to a Photon Density Modulated light pulse – avoiding any AD/DA conversions – and then transmits the encoded optical information back to its original digital format. The entire signal path is purely unidirectional, with no back reflection, in order to capture amazing clarity.
Total Impedance Control
Impedance matching is one of the most critical variables for a quality digital signal. The Cyberlight Digital Datalinks’ LAM technology allows for total impedance control at all frequencies for maximum linearity – 75 ohms for coaxial cables and 100 ohms for AES/BU connections. Tightly controlling the impedance at both ends of the datalink prevents echoes within the cable and eliminates timing issues that cause jitter.
Ground-Breaking Technology
Figuratively and literally speaking, CyberLight technology is truly ground-breaking. The photon density modulated light signal actually does break the ground between components yielding a signal largely (or completely with the CyberLight Power Pack) unaffected by humming noise along the ground plane.
